Fit For Work Health Assessments

Health assessments help the employer to understand if an employee is mentally and physically fit for their role.

If the role has fitness standards that are either a legal requirement: DVLA Fitness to Drive for instance or Fitness for Working at Heights as per the Management of Health & Safety ACOP, these health assessments will help you to understand that a persons health is suitable for the role.

The following health assessments can confirm fitness for the role:

  • Company car drivers

  • Mechanised handling equipment (MHE)

  • Working at heights

  • Working in Confined Spaces

  • Construction - safety critical roles and tasks

Employers are legally required to offer a Night Workers Health Assessment for workers who regularly work 3 hours between the hours of 11pm until 6am unless the workers and the employer have agreed a different time period.

  • Night Workers Health Assessment

Other health assessments will depend on the nature of work being undertaken and may include:

  • New Starters Health Questionnaires

  • Display Screen Equipment assessments - where there are active or underlying musculoskeletal difficulties
