Sickness Absence
When a person is absent from or struggling at work, a health problem could be the underlying cause. As the manager, a welfare conversation can be helpful in establishing the concerns. These could be fixed quite easily with a conversation, action or mutual agreement within the workplace.
Where a health problem is impacting on ability to work, the employer needs to understand the likely timescales and what the employer can offer by considering reasonable adjustments or changes to help their employee. This is addressed within an Occupational Health Management report.
The employee may need to understand what actions they can take themselves to help improve their health outcomes and where further help and information can be found to help them take control of their health. The OHA will offer an impartial, evidence based opinion designed to bring relevant advice to both the manager and the employee.
Management referrals can be completed in-person or remotely via Teams. This allows us to provide you with the most appropriate option for your employees and your company.
When the photocopier breaks... we check the power, the ink and the paper. We remove any stoppages. Failing all that, we call out an engineer who visits very promptly, and the printer is fixed.
